Bout 1,900 one week (two trips), 2,450 the next week (3 trips.) alternating week to week. Payed by the run though not the mileage. $300 a trip. That's a dedicated route. Command folks, (General OTR driving,) are payed like $160 a day everyday they are in the truck I believe.

    Allthebest.

I have been at falcon for about 8 months. I have talked to other falcon drivers that have said they have had problems like yours. I honestly don't understand how you could let this happen. You have the final say about if that truck moves or not. I did have some issues with equipment in the begining but after I shut multiple trucks down in the middle of a run and refused to move an inch further until the issues were fixed, they wised up and put me in one of the new trucks. They now know that I will not drive an unsafe truck or pull an unsafe trailer. As for the DM's, they will push you, but like allthebest said, you have to push back. If a run can not be done safely and legally, then do not do it. It is your life and CDL that is on the line.

Over all, I would rate falcon a decent place to drive for, as long as you don't have a problem standing up for yourself.

I've currently been driving for Falcon for about 3 months now as a part of their OTR (command) division. It is $160 a day for every day out. I have had some issues where they tried to not pay me for days where I was out but just sitting at the truck stop waiting to be dispatched. I called and brought up the issue and the missing pay was added to my next check. Slightly annoying, yes. A huge deal? Not really.

I've had two trucks so far. Both automatic. Both old and not the greatest, but what do you expect? This is a company trying to turn a profit. They are going to use these trucks until they are completely unusable any longer. Now, wouldn't it make sense that, since I have to live in the truck like 90 percent of the time they might give me one of their many many available trucks with more living space, or maybe one of their nicer newer trucks? I would think so. I think the slip-seaters would be better candidates for yhe older trucks or the home every day guys. Of course my opinion is biased.

I came over here from Schneider and its a hell of a lot better than it was over there. Honestly, when I hear these people complain, I have to wonder how they get by in the world. Nothing is going to be perfect. #### is going to happen. So far I feel like I've been treated pretty well. These guys must live their whole lives as victims. Whatever. Not my problem. I'll just keep working and getting paid.

Work time per day varies. I would say that USUALLY I don't work a 14 hour day. 11 hours driving is not uncommon, but 8-10 hour days are not uncommon either. Recently I have been dispatched on a couple loads that have really screwed with my sleep schedule and I didn't make it for the full 11 hours driving. Dispatch has been really cool about it. Really they have hardly even mentioned it. Now, I'm not saying that this is something that should be or will be happening all the time on their end OR on my end, but it's nice to know that when it does happen it isn't going to cost me my job.

I primarily run a round trip between various locations in Michigan and Youngstown, OH. Sometimes it's there and back. Sometimes it's there-back-there. Sometimes it's just there. If I lived closer to the yard I would say that I would be at home probably close to half the days. Since I don't live near the yard I usually stay in the truck to make it easier.

Now, the catch is that they pay you $160 per day that you are out. So, since I live so far from the yard, this makes things tricky for me. Sometimes they will send me back to the home terminal, even when I don't have scheduled home time. Now most guys live near the yard so they would just go to their house and wait to be called. I have to wait in the truck, and sometimes that has meant that I sit in the truck for days on end without a load. I am still unsure whether or not I get paid for these days or not. My guess is no. So for me, it's like I am spending days out but not getting paid for them, which makes work seem a little more tedious. This does not happen often, but it has happened. I'd really like to say that I was maxing out my paycheck every week, but so far it really hasn't been happening despite my being out here all the time. That being said, the structure of my life allows me to live this way with very little worry, so it still works for me.

Really it is not a difficult job. Schneider was much more demanding and unpredictable. The freight is almost all automotive freight. Load/unload times are generally short, but it doesn't matter anyway because you aren't worried about how many miles you are running.

I think you could be doing a lot better than $160/day without having to live in a truck.

I currently work for Falcon. Growing up I was always taught that if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all so I'm going to keep my mouth shut. You can imagine what this means. Falcon is not on my list of favorites!
