hmm. Interesting. I just know I get it for every day I'm on shift. Typical day is gone for at least 12 hours. Then again the truck isn't registered to the address of where we stay. So legally I guess we are always away. So I don't know the full legalities of how that is supposed to work

From my research during the job hunt, I'd say that income sounds like it's within the normal range, considering the allowances/perks, though I can't speak too much specifically to whether 20% is average, but it's what I'll be getting (20% of the company's hourly rate). My percentage will add up considerably higher due to the rate, but no allowances/accom/etc. But where you are in Alberta would be relevant too...

Wich first aid course they ask for? Level A CPR with AED or level C with AED? I'm not sure if i'm getting the right one here in Qc. And dos that course must be provided only by red cross or st-john ambulance or as long it's level A (or level c) CPR \ AED it's ok?

    thanks!

Workplace Level C CPR/AED is the one you want. Doesnt matter who offers the course, it will be the same certificate.

Are you sure about level C? Got a friend out there he's hauling fluid and he only got level A.

I understand how percentage works. What are you being offered? 20% of #### all is still #### all. What is the rate that the 20 percent is based on? And the other guys that get 35%, 35% of what rate?

I don't know where that guys working but rates here are a wash across the board between companies for fluid hauling. 20 percent would be low for my area but may be in line for his area when you take into consideration the accomadation , vehicle etc that's being provided free of charge. If he's been there a year then it can't be that bad or he would have moved on. Ops are allways offering drivers a job in this game so if a drivers not happy he don't got to look too far to find a better deal !

On average your making $31 and change per hour give or take(straight time). Your not spending money on travelling or accomodations. I'm guessing your paying for food possibly hookers and a bit of blow. Your gross is about 2600 bi weekly. Your probably right in the ballpark for a 7/7 shift. You want more green you find a job that requires more days working.

it depends and I don't think I can give a solid answer. It depends on distance. But between 3.59 and 10.72 per cubic meter. 30 cube loads generally. Oil paid by weight. Water by meter. But 30m roughly. But doesn't mean #### either because some loads are down rough back roads that take longer.

And as for other guys out here looking for work. My boss likes me. I know what I'm doing and he knows that. I'm not here to toot my horn but I'm good at this job. Efficient. I am lost for words looking at some of the people out here.

And I guess my raise comes in the form of doing the job more efficiently. Dispatch doesn't always like it, but if I got a water load to go somewhere, I take it in the direction of where I have another load. I don't waste miles. And no one says anything to me about it.

I don't even know what each load ends up paying. I suppose I could request that information from my employer.

And by the way he ended up offering more money to us. Slight increase. But enough to make me happy.

Wait times have been horrendous for several months now. That's my grief I had with the job in general. I had polished my skills of efficiently moving fluid and I'm already a good driver. And am not mechanically retarded. So the wait times cut into what I could make. Hopefully that gets better and 300 a day will be pretty standard for a good day at 20% even.

I'm working in the Lloydminster area. my o/o pays me 30 percent of what the truck makes, plus 30$hr for anything other then driving like washing the truck, oil changes, parts run, etc. Paid accomodations and a truck to get around in and a $500 monthly bonus for no spills, incidents, etc.

He also has a coversion chart in the truck so your able to see exactly what the truck makes for every load. Ours is paid a certain amount per cube within a certain amount of distance.

For example, a common one we have is a load between 25-30 miles which is $7.46 a cube for water and $7.73 a cube for oil. Load is usually 30 cube give or take a few decimals. So $224 for water and $232 for oil and I get 30 percent of that. 0-5 miles for water pays the truck about $110. And everything in between and the rare farther loads.

As for wait time, truck is payed $85/hr (30 percent to me) and if you're stuck and waiting for the tractor to come pull you out, this also counts as wait time.

I've had 1 or 2 low days around 350 360, and some high days of 480 500. It averages to around 410 420 for a 12 hour shift. Working 20 on 10 off.

With your $100 a day tax free it isnt that far off from my 30 percent.
