Wear a bow tie, watch Smokey and the Bandit and grow a mustache like Burt Reynolds.

A lot of the big name companies have been named already. Don't quote me this but i also think baker hughes, pumpco, otex, nabors and a few other outfits will. I'm attending sage driving school in endicott and when im done i have a job at pumpco on the frac side. And if i dont like it there i a quite a few other options in the oilfield

I came to this forum with the same questions and concerns. I live in NYC and work for Halliburton. I'm based out of the Montgomery PA yard. I too attended one of their hiring events and was hired. Took a few weeks to get the ball rolling as far as paperwork and a physical was concerned but I got it done. Send me a message with any questions you might have. (These country boys don't think us city folk can hack it out here btw)

I just went to their site and filled out the app form.I've already got my CDL-A with tankers,doubles/triples & Hazmat, just no real driving experience time.( heavy equipment operator so I do have some time behind the wheel) Most of the companies I talked to in Williston,North Dakota said call back in the spring and that they'd be happy to train me then, but not now with the snow about to fall.

"Halliburton trains the oilfield" Is an old saying. Its not hard to get hired on by them. I would never work for them again, but its a start. You will start out running the sand movers and work up eventually. If its a big crew you may not move up at all if theres a lot of senior guys there. Emphasize safety during your interview and the ability to be a team player and you will be hired. But as soon as you can move on from them.

I went to the hiring event last week. There were about 20 or so guys there. On the sign up sheet most did not have a CDL, so its not a big deal. They ask that after you get an offer, you get your permit asap.

Starting wage is $13.50 an hour, but it includes benefits and hotel while on site as well as $32 per day per diem. So most things are covered while working. I heard estimates of $70k plus or so for earnings. Not bad.

Seemed like a very professional setup, so you know you will have the safest standards working there.

Are you talking about Haliburton? I was told they aren't hiring currently without a CDL by a recruiter.
