I have it on good authority that once you pass those signs you enter the Twilight Zone.ncmickey Thanks this.

I love when beyond that "No Trucks Allowed" sign is where the customer is located, and that's the only way to get there.

Sometimes there's an idiot at the end of that road that will tell you on the phone 'but trucks come here all the time, don't worry about it', then when you show up they say, 'Why didn't you tell me you were a BIG truck?'
(and you can't turn around anywhere, or even get close to where you need to drop off ONE piece)
I used to deliver truckloads of custom furniture, that sometimes included one piece going to a home, or some little interior designer office or shop. A 'truck' to them was anything from a ford ranger up to a small straight truck.
I got to the point I'd tell them. 'I'll sit at this intersection for 30 minutes. Send somebody to get this 20 pound piece and sign for it HERE, I'm not coming up that road marked 'no trucks', which I probably can't turn around in. In 30 minutes I head on to my next stop, and your piece goes back to the factory, or maybe into a dumpster two states away.' You'd be surprised how fast somebody would show up, but the prissy little jerks would stand there for 30 minutes inspecting the #### little pink zebra striped end table they paid $3000 for, before they would sign for it, looking for scratches.double yellow, Moosetek13 and Stew209 Thank this. -
I-84 in Oregon has a sign like that around Multnomah Falls. So after years of abiding by that sign, I got off the exit in a car. There's a really good reason for that sign. Number one its a beautiful scenic drive along the falls, with people wandering about checking the natural beauty out. Another reason is because its tight in a car..... And yes, I've seen where some idiot tried to run it in a truck. One place where they really really need that "No Trucks" sign is on US 129 from NC into TN. Look up "Tail of the Dragon" to find out why.
ncmickey Thanks this. -
That "Dragon" road is insane, one wrong move and you are in the ditch upside down. It is a great road for motorcycles but trucks should not be allowed.

SADLY & UNFORTUNATELY, truck drivers are often treated the same way as PROSTITUTES are treated.
When the needs and urges for necessary freight are powerfully strong, the truck drivers are more than welcomed. Once the needs and urges for necessary freight have been satisfied, various people can't get rid of the truck drivers fast enough. It really is an ABSOLUTE HORRIBLE SHAME!Chewy352 and Slickshoes Thank this. -
From a story on TTR's front page, maybe this driver was only feeling a bit curious as well...??? --> http://www.thetruckersreport.com/trucker-drives-on-pedestrian-path-gets-stuck-on-bridge/
What's that saying about curiosity and some cat? -
I think I resemble that remark show me enough money and I will haul something I didn't want to somewhere I didn't want to go and after it is over I feel uncleanMudguppy Thanks this.
