I'm not sure if this is even considered the right place to post this, but at the very least maybe some one can give me some insight as to where to look or possibly a contact that could be made.

After having driven a truck for two years, from OTR to local flatbed and intermodal work, I'm finally getting tired of the lack of respect coupled with 13 hour days, manipulation, lies and psychological mind games the big trucking companies play off so well. It amazes me how many drivers are fooled by their highly scripted responses, but then again I know many others like myself shake their head and keep on to be able to pay the bills. Before driving a truck I had clerical experience, call center experience and even management experience. I worked in offices, wore ties and never knew how good I had it. But, I'm the kind of person who doesn't ever like to waste things, including my experiences. I don't think the last two years I've spent driving a truck was a waste, I think it was a tool to learn from and use to my advantage. I've done a lot of research on becoming a freight broker and everything about screams out "this career is for you, buddy!" I don't mind being on call at all, putting in hard work, I don't mind starting at the bottom, I just want a future with some potential which I never feel driving a truck.

I'm hoping some place out there will take me on even without having hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue, contacts and years of experience. I paid close attention this whole time to the paperwork side of the freight industry, I'm proud at my ability to solve issues between shippers, consignees and many folks in between when my companies seemed stumped and unable to act. After all, that's what got me into management before. I'm very quick at taking action and resolving issues, I enjoy it. I think that given what I use to do, coupled with what I've learned the last couple of years would make me well worth some one's time, I just need to get my foot in the door.

Hopefully the right person reads this, or some one who knows some one, or some where.

Thank you kindly for your time.

well then if you have done your research then you also know to be a broker you need that pesky $100,000 bond just to start then getting contracts with shippers and that's a hole different ball of wax all together. really does take alot more then you realize. agents are different as you should already be aware however most brokerages will expect you to bring something to the table as an agent such as your contacts etc. what I would suggest is to work for a while as a dispatcher that might start you in the right direction.

Do you prefer opening a new brokerage or becoming an agent for a brokerage?
