1) The company doesn't like me, I am just a meat in the seat steering wheel holder...
Correct!!! Congratulations!!! AAA+++ I get it... You got it... that's life...
You didn't think they were hiring you to be buddies did you?
2) I get 3,900 miles a week but am only paid .29 cents a mile.
I get paid .42 cents per mile but am only getting 2,692 miles a week.
They make me run all the time to the point it is illegal.
I can't get a load period and am left sitting.
DITTO !!!
3) The recruiter, dispatch, CEO, advertizing, or somebody lied to me. I
can't hack sitting with no-load nor hack sitting and driving, I want
"BIG" paychecks and little or preferrably no aptitude/skills/heartache
involved. In fact, just mail me my paycheck and I'll stay home.
SEE ABOVE !!!
4) I planned on running 120k miles annually. But this winter there weren't
any miles to run. Then when I took two weeks off in the middle of
summer plus wanting home on weekends, the miles didn't add up.
AND...???
5) Well, yeah, they kinda implied it or else directly told me and I did sign on the dotted line excepting the terms and conditions of the employment/lease/fill-in-the-blank contract but "DANG" this just isn't fair because... fill-in-the-blank!!!!!!
Yes, they were serious weren't they, only hired you to work, paid you only what they had to, let you hear what you wanted to hear, think what you wanted to think, and allowed you to screw yourself just as hard as you possibly could.
These examples of whinning have been done to death. In the interest of sanity, ettiquette, style, and brevity can we come up with something new and innovative or perhaps shorten the abuse of our fellow seat jockies by whinning by number???
code 99 (designating whine) followed by specific line item number.
"how's it go'in North bound?"
"your looking good back down to the split... but I been working for (company name) for three years and they just 99-4'd me so I'm headed home to break the news to momma. You be careful.
"ten-four, I drove for them back in (date) they 99-4'd me and 99-2'd me also... so I had to quit and ride the dog home."
"Roger, I'm waiting on that myself now... trying to hold out, got my apps in at (company name) I hear once you get on there, they just mail you a check, no driving involved."
Much quicker and easier... BTW quit playing your radio over the c.b. I know you think you're a DJ... but trust me... you ain't or you'd be getting paid for it.

Y'know.. I sat here for a good 3 minutes with my mouth open (letting the flies out, darnint) trying to think of an appropriate comment to this.
Well done! -
That could of been done in 6 words.
Whine Whine...a waste of space!
6 words.
It's a job, Get over it. -
you spelled whining wrong, you are also whining about people whining so are you any better?
-
I like it! Nice post about a popular topic. I hate going through someone's diatribe only to see that duh it was their fault!
-
What you talking about WIllis? The misspelling was on the part of the original poster.

careful there, im6under, I posted something just like this a while back entitled "all companies are bad," and was threatened to be banned by the site owner. people don't like to hear the truth or deal with reality.

better??? I don't know... its kinda like comparing apples and oranges when you really wanted a yogurt... futile.
"chief" "careful there, im6under, I posted something just like this a while back entitled "all companies are bad," and was threatened to be banned by the site owner. people don't like to hear the truth or deal with reality."
I liked that thread. Maybe the site owner had misplaced his sense of humor that day was all??? Seemed like it was all poked in fun to me. -
well, I'm not going to defend any company that conducts itself in an unethical, illegal or immoral fashion, but that's not what a lot of folks complain about. trucking is NOT the pie job that potential drivers envision. it does require long hours, aggravating work and a lot of other drawbacks that some people don't want to deal with. and you're NOT going to make $50-60k your first year. but if somebody ####### about being sent home from orientation simply because they test positive for crack, and failed to disclose their mile long criminal record and 15 tickets for speeding, wrecks and DUIs, and the fact that they've had 50 jobs in the last 3 years then I have no sympathy for these folks.
