It's not that it's an "aggressive gesture". It just isn't a particularly nice thing to do at night. The problem is the driver passing you will be looking in his passenger side mirror to judge whether or not he has cleared you, which would be the worst time to be hit with a high beam flash.
In the daytime it's not a big deal. But at night it's better to turn your headlights off and then back on.AfterShock, Hurst and Joetro Thank this. -
It's considered "aggressive" in the States when someone tells you that you are doing something wrong, such as going to slow in the left lane. Tell a truck driver he is doing something wrong and watch his response, especially here in the fourms.

Not sure I follow that logic.
If someone tells me I'm wrong, my first reaction is to try to self assess what I am doing and see if maybe I am wrong. If not I then try to understand the motive or reason for why the other person feels that way. If I still cant understand or a reasonable solution can not be met, I'll walk away.
Truckers vary greatly from virtually all demographic parts of life. We are from all over the world,.. all walks of life. So just as in real life, you have guys hell bent and angry with the world, and other guys afraid of their own shadow.
So either I dont understand what your trying to portray, or I disagree with what/how your saying it. I personally cant label all truckers as aggressive cretins ready to break heads if anyone gets in their way. Correct me if I'm wrong,.. but thats how I perceived your message.

Wow....judgement and sanctimony at it's finest.
No need to brake check, just waive your kite at 'em, it's amazing how fast folks straighten up!
(oh boy i'm gonna hear it now!)
