Just got me class this year all I've drove is flatbed, and I like it. Had been working for small 1099 company, old trucks, many break downs, sometimes ac works, flat 140 bucks per day, and have to put up a lot. Held on and got my 6 months plus in.
Considering Gysum Express recruiter saying .43 cpm plus incentives, $12 to tarp, $12 to untarp, benefits, new equipment, and I'd potentially be working out of terminal in Savannah GA. Heard it was hard to get on with TMC if not ex military?
Any pointer?
Got 7 Months Flatbed Experience.....Gypsum Express?? Boyd??TMC?? Percentage or CPM???

You probably live in the middle of every flatbed company's hiring area living in Alabama. Figure out what's most important home time or long runs. I personally would go with a % company but in the end the bean counters know what to pay and most places are going to be very similar in pay.
If you want to see 48 states go Melton. If you want to be home most weekends go with Maverick, Boyd, TMC, Jordan, etc. The only O could say that would turn me off from Gysum is those tiny Frightshakers will be the heck out of you. Good luck!! -
Thanks Army....lol freight shaker is what I've driven for the most part

Boyd will say you don't have enough exp I believe. They either want fresh from school or minimum 2 yrs driving. You can try though. My bf loves it with Boyd and has no desire to go anywhere else. Main terminal is in Birmingham and they are moving to all 2014 or 15 Internationals. He's been home most weekends he has requested.

Thanks for the info. I've emailed BTC. -
Here's another question......what are pros and cons when comparing cpm vs percentage?
-
Think about what you hauling for when that load planner secures you a nice 1200 mile Friday backhaul for $1.00/mile.....
On the other hand, percentage ensures you a raise every time rates go up. We saw sharp increases in rates almost 2 years ago, but driver pay just started increasing this year. -
I just came from BTC only thing i don't like is crap tarps. Joist delivery. and them #### "road ambassadors" Pay to spy on you.
