I too went through the Roehl school...WOW alot of info and also alot of fun. I am in the last days of EVO 2 and will soon be going home for some time off as I elected to do both EVO's back to back. I also got a chance to talk to Evertt and Rick Roehl they both are real nice. The teachers in school were great and the trainers on the road have been wounderful. So if there is anybody thinking about getting into the trucking industry I would consider Roehl if I were you, glad I did........ To everyone else keeping on truckin and be safe on the road. Play it safe becuse that extra mile really is not worth it.......

They did fix a nice problem recently with all those ridiculous QC messages. Not only did the QC message cost them money to send, but they'd send the things, I'd see what they said on the dash, then the beeping would drive me nuts so I'd pull over and reach down to the "Read Next" button, then take off. Depending on the incline, it can take anywhere from .25 to 1 gallon to get all the way back up to speed from these unnecessary stops. 1500 drivers doing this, say once a day, is 1500 gallons if they each use a gallon of fuel on these stupid QC messages. I think Roehl just saved about $6k/day.

I thought that was funny too. You must have one of the older dash styles that show the first couple lines of the message. Mine is the newer style that doesn't show anything, so you don't really know about the message, even though you're pretty sure that's what it is.
At least they listened to a driver this time. I am going to guess it was one of the old timers there at Marshfield. -
Amen brother!!! Preach it preache rman!
I have said this before and I will say it again.....There needs to be more communication between planning/customer service/DSR's! This is where 99.9% of the problems I have run into come from. I communicate just great with my DSR, and he with me. It's on the end that I can't do anything about.
Appointments not made or made and changed and I don't get notified. Stuff like that happens that causes the frustration level to rise to the point that I am looking elsewhere.
I point out that none of these things are isolated. There is a pattern of this non-communication that has gone on for a long time now and it keeps costing them drivers. -
I just finished training period. Start tomorrow(Mon5/19) on my own with newly assigned truck. I am sure I did not learn or experience evrything in training that I will endure on my own but my first inquiry of concern is this... How do most of you handle the QC msgs received while driving? There is a lable on ours that tells us not to use it while driving and we get msgs daily telling us what the lable and the handbook tell you, DO NOT OPERATE QC WHILE DRIVING. My trainer did. I said I would not. From my view he was so anxious to see what it said, he couldn't even wait for me to read it. Not all of the time but still some of the time, his driving while reading and replying was nerve racking for me. So what happens if you don't respond? Or should I pull over every time and reply quickly? Let me know quickly please, I will not be back for at least a week on here.

Trainer trucks qualcom will allow you to view messages while vehicle is in motion, your truck will not. You will have to pull over to view messages. Roehl likes you to pull over and view messages as soon as possible and safe to do so.

Of late, it seems Roehl is gettin' a lot of bad press here. Interesting. Is it time to take them off the list of companies to work for? Maybe.
