I'll take a shot at at this one.
Personally, just my opinion, I'm not a fan of the wide cab on either truck. Wide cabs do not have the same "#### pit" feel of an old school narrow cab, narrow hood. Due to the wide cab there's no room for stacks, they must go on the back. With all that moving around room the drivers seat is pushed right up against the door to close. It seems to me they're made more for taking time off, than driving. To me they look like a cross between a conventional and a cab over, I've spent enough time in a cab overs, KW, IH, Pete, & a Ford.

My 379 has more drivers space, because its designed to be driven. The whole setup is less fatiguing. When I'm driving, my body is located just left of the center of the hood. This also gives me more sun protection, better climate control, and better front window position. Its a pleasure to drive and that's very important.

Other than that I'm not up on issues related to either model. Good luck looking.

Because those models are junk and built cheap. Nothing nice about them, driving or working on them.

One thing that dad and I didn't like either on t2000 or 387, it's too hard to rebuilt the fiberglass sleeper. Dad and I though cut the wall off and new one would work. We ended replacing the whole sleeper. 04 387 with mbn 435 hp. it was back at 2006. We counted that truck as brand new.

As neither the KW T-2000 and PT-387 are made anymore ( regardless on how some seem to think they are RE INCARNATED into newer models ) that drives down the resale price on the used ones

Don't let them fool you. These heaps are still being made. They were just given a new hood and side skirts with a new model name. Same old junk.

They're cheap because fleets bought a bunch of them and they're now being replaced and put on the market, same as Freightliners.

Why is it that every T2000 I see has bungee cords holding a side fairing or plastic bumper on? Ugliest truck Kenworth ever built in my opinion.
