I no it has been talked about but all the videos I found on here will not load up so, I have drove a St. 10, 9 speed, and a 13 speed but how do you shift a super 10? Videos would be great too if anybody has one.

if your loaded try starting in 3rd (2nd with the flipper to the rear) get her rolling ,flip the flipper forward, when your rpms get up where you want another gear, let off the gas and she'll shift all by herself. next time you want another gear you need to pull the shifter back and move the flipper to the rear at the same time, now you're in 5th (3rd with the flipper to the rear) and so on until you get to 9th/10th. which i think shift themselves automatically. PATIENCE is REQUIRED to drive a super 10. downshifting is similar, you'll figure it out.
the only thing i never liked was going downhill in 9th, if you let the rpms get too high, poof, your in 10th gear with more of that 6% grade ahead of you. don't be scared, it's not a bad tranny once you get used to it, and, with a little practice, you will.
hope that makes sense and helps out, good luck -
Instead of shifting the gear stick 10 separate times you will only need to move it 5. Their is an air shift lever at the end of the stick just as a normal 10 speed has but with 1 exception; The air shifter goes from low to high in each gear. Kinda like driving a bus with a hi and lo transmission. For each gear you shift to you will have an option to go to the high side or the low side.
My only complaint about super 10's is that in some trucks the computer gets confused and you may lose your high range or low range completely thus turning your truck into a 5 speed rather than a 10 with huge steps up and down! If this ever happens to any of you, do not panic. Simply pull over and set the brakes. Turn the engine off for a couple of minutes and then re-start it. This should have re-set the computer for the transmission and engine and you will be good to go. -
So kind of like a 13 speed but there is 5 shifts and in each gear there is a high, low? So 1st gear, get rpms up" flip " let off gas a little it switchs to 2nd, get rpms up "flip" switch back, shift to 3rd and so on and 9th switchs to 10th like a 9 speed does?

"tinglish" can I flip the switch back before I go into the next gear like a 13 speed or does it need to be done at the same time? -
Yep, just like a 13 speed , my only complain with mine was that it didnt like cold weather , what I would do in cold is instead of splitting while in the hole I would pull it out of gear then split in neutral and back in the hole for some reason that is a common problem , my buddy has 3 of them and has to do it at start up every morning in the winter time ,once they warm up a little they split fine....hope this helps.

Thats right. Pre-select the low range just prior to moving to the next higher gear and vice versa for down shifting. Other than that most super 10's have an auto shift from 9th to 10th and back down based on the vehicle speed.

i've never driven a 13 speed, from reading these posts, it sound like splitting the gears on a 13 is like shifting on a super 10. if that's the case, you won't have any problems.
one thing that was hard for me was driving the super 10 for 6 mos. then going back to a straight 10. was grindy grindy for a couple days. -
You can keep all the Super 10's
Where are the two or more stick transmissions these days?
I miss my 4x4. -
Yeah, it's the same deal on the higher gears in the 13 speed.
I went from a super 10 to straight 10 to a 13 speed.
currently bouncing back from a mack 8 and eaton fuller 9 depending on which truck I get stuck with at work. I far prefer the eaton.... that and it's in a international... lol
