I'm probably just being overly paranoid but I just started in this industry and I don't want to risk screwing it up by disparaging another employee.
Leaving with trainer tomorrow, what to expect?

Fair enough. I was the same way looking back everyone told me to turn in my 1st trainer, but I didn't want to rock the boat being a greenhorn and all. It's probably a good way to go. Once I got some experience I took great joy in telling these pricks to eat #### and die as often as i could. Hell that was one of the reasons i ended up quitting, but you got another year or two before you reach that point.
You'll get through this and it will be nothing more than a terrible memory you laugh about down the road. -
oH! well get used to being BOSSEd around just like in the military when to sleep when to eat you know the drill + a lot of you cant do this BTW good luck

Expect to have your patience tested and understand that this is the next step in truck driving bootcamp...a short character building experience in what will hopefully be a long career. Just do whatever you need to do to make nice with this person and bite your lip at times if you need to. They can teach you important real world stuff that school or orientation wasn't able to cover.
-
I personally wasn't interested doing this either, so after I finished school and got my class A I went and tried my hand at the only company I knew of that put you into your own truck right away if you passed orientation. It worked out okay. I've never once had to sleep in a truck with somebody else. That was a bullet I was intent on dodging if I could.

Give Watkins and Shepard in Missoula a call if you can't hammer things out with System.
-
Thanks I'll check them out.
-
Yep, Watkins and Shepard only have a 10 day orientation/training and then your out on your own.
-
Unfortunately I'm out of hiring distance for Watkins. Does anyone know any other companies with a shorter training period. I've contacted Schneider already, they train for 1 week.
-
I'm a brand new cdl school graduate looking for first job. Talked to Schneider. Their training is only 17 days, including orientation, then you are solo. Check it out. Hope all works out for you. Hang in there!
EDIT.....sorry, you already talked to Schneider I now see. I think Melton is 3 weeks with trainer, after orientation, which includes load securment training. They seemed perfect for me, but they took a pass
