What should you do is listen to your ex trainer.Very much doubt you'll get fired but you may receive a service failure which is easily fightable. But you need to tell your dispatcher you cant make the pickup ontime and why.Yes hes going to rant and rave about it but so what,he'll get over it.But you don't wanna tell him at the last minute because hes going to need time to find another driver to pick up the load.
"semi" retired and allniter Thank this. -
Your dispatcher isn't your boss. Go take a hot shower and a 34.
Vilhiem Thanks this. -
Brother! Saying can't get enough rest because they are only giving you enough time for 8 hr break! Yet you on this forum? State the FMCSA rules on legal logging, 11-14, then 10 hrs off duty! Not 8! You run illegal, it's your license, not theirs, don't let dispatch ruin yours
JReding Thanks this. -
Take pic's of the qualcomm just in case the messages accidentally disappear (Like the IRS emails did).
If your not under load already, it should be no big deal to decline it if your sick.
I was sick enough once that I was ready to pull into a weigh station and volunteer to be put OOS. I got taken off the load before that happened tho.
Ended up with a good rest. -

The company will use that 8-2 split when it benefits them. -
It is against to law to run when you are ill or even when your tired, if you have a crash and admit to being ill you will be held CRIMINALLY with fines and jail time similar to DUI...source FMCSA 392.3.
