After reading the pitsburg power pages on hot rodding older cummins engines, i was wondering if anyone has similar links to do the same/ similar to the electronic engines from all 3 MFGs. ( i'll include the 3406 family in there too ).
If anyone could help i would appreciate it.

They make the power computer for electronic engines from Cat, Cummins, and Detroit, I don't know about the IS Cummins series, or the newer Cat and Detroit, Detroit was up to DDEC IV I think, for the computer, and the newer engines are harder to modify. Currently, Detroit is up to DDEC VI on all the Series 60 and Mercedes Benz, and the new DD15.

Dont get a pitts box, there are safer ways to make power. The box will eventually melt your motor down. But they do make them for acerts, and ISX now from what i hear.

I wasnt reffering to their box, more their tech articles to making power on the older engined. as in changed timing and etc..
just wondering if there is any info like that available for the electronic motors as when i do get back into another rig, i will hotrod it. -
I can tell you all you need to know, my 2003 C15 i over 1000hp at the motor. As far as CAT goes, i know some high power detroit guys as well. I dont really care for cummins, but most cummins guys use the box.

Well its a 2003 C-15 "bridge" engine rated at 525hp 1850tq from factory. I started out with a fuel temp wire, then swapped ecm's to a pre emission 6NZ with marine porgram, added a boost sensor wire. Then from there i got a 3406E 800hp camshaft and injectors, with a big michigan turbo special stage 5 turbo. I ran it like that for a while, now i recently installed a C-16 CAT ecm with 2300rpm program, FLS or full load setting is set to 127 in the ecm, meaning the fuel map is pretty much maxed out, this ecm cannot give any more fuel without bigger injectors. Also injector trim codes are set to 5232, anybody can change the trim codes and this is the "hot" code for all single turbo 6NZ and older Caterpillars, worth 60hp over stock. Thats how i am running mine right now. This is achieved with all factory Caterpillar parts, i will run across a 6% grade doing 75mph with a full load in 17th gear, i could do it in top gear but rpms are to low and the exhaust temps get a tad warm, so i keep it around 1700-1800rpm and hold it at part throttle..... That being said i am not a fan of the pitts box, but i dont want to bad mouth them on a public site, its a good product just not very safe.
asphaltcowboy1982 Thanks this.
