There's actually a shortage of salt in ky&in right now. It was on the news. They haven't ordered it still.

Louisville actually had a survey on what roads the ppl wanted salted awhile back.

That stretch from bowling green up thru Seymour is a #####. One of the most dangerous highway stretches with all the construction.

    Planned end date :
Sometime in 2016....luckily there's a few ways around if you aren't stupid and afraid to turn the wheel.

Glad to know I'm not the only one their "mascot" creeped out.

...and am I the only one wondering if some others in another thread protesting seatbelt usage are viewing this?

Glad nobody was severely injured, that's for sure.

1st, I was unaware that any bus had seatbelts, I know school buses don't, so that's good Megabus has them and as far as road salt, these municipalities are running out of money, you are going to see more and more of that. Asking people what roads they want treated, you've got to be kidding me.

"... likely lessened the severity of the injuries, according to Trooper Holley."

I've been in both types of crashes; where the seat belt could have saved or killed me. The latter crash occurred when I was barely 16. I drove an Austin Healey off a 30' embankment one night at ~100 mph.

Still, I've worn a seat belt for every mile since, it finally got a chance to save me. Drove 100 yards across a parking lot yesterday w/o it, felt naked and wrong.

Listen to this, in Milwaukee, (where the BIG salt pile is) these surrounding communities are running out of salt in their sheds, because every available dump truck is working on the freeway project(I-94) and the owners of the dump trucks don't even want to haul salt, because it barely pays for the fuel they use. It really is kind of a serious situation. Lucky we've had a mild winter,,,,,so far.

A friend of mine would have died if he was wearing his seatbelt, when he lost control of his pickup. He hit a big square concrete support on the drivers side. If he was wearing his seatbelt It would have held him in place but instead he got flung to the passenger side, He almost died anyway but the authorities said that had he had a seat belt on he surely would have died. Another friend of mine passed last July due to a motorcycle accident (no helmet) but again they said that it would not have mattered if he was wearing one cause he broke his neck. When it is your time it is your time nothing we can do about that. Sure seatbelts save lives, but who wants to live forever.....Wheeew I need a Cigarette.

Those who run for public office citing their business acumen as among their assets almost invariably find reciting the oath of office causes every shred of it to vanish...
