Well that sure beats hooking to the track pads and thinking that is secure enough. Or not enough securement because they forget that the WLL is cut in half when you go from the securement point to the trailer. I do something similar to what this other driver did but I go through the tracks. This puts the chain right across the frame of the excavator.

Because this machine weighs 50k lbs I have 5 each 3/8" chains with a WLL of 5500 lbs because of the binders and the fact that I am tied to both sides of the trailer to get the full WLL. Hooks would not fit through the securement points but I would have had to either use 1/2" chain or throw more chains because the WLL would have been half.

What's really sad is when you book a ld. from your former employer and their rate is better than the rate of the people you now pull for...
Got some crap for that one. But money is money.... And I made a better profit

Yeah, LS is home for not now. Joe Byrd is still here, I've heard stories about him and how he can be, but personally I've never really had any issues with him.
But, there definitely is a bunch of favoritism inside the company.
From what I've heard and understand they changed the pay package for the four axles, which pissed most of them off, so we had at least 7 leave that I personally know of, but could and probably is higher than that.

Never ever had an issue with Joe, in fact I have tremendous respect for him. And yes the pay package for the quad drivers has changed big time and not in favor of the drivers!

Might have been an option but we kinda wanted it to get to the right airport and we know Boeing's problems with that recently.

Thanks for the post. I had considered a few times leasing on w a company and putting my authority on hold to test the waters, but I guess I might not have it that bad after all.

I just really don't know anymore. I know there are pro's and con's to running your own numbers.
The thing right now for me is no trl. of my own at the present time.
Plus the fuel discounts we get are great.
But on this minus side their low rates on a lot of stuff.Yes I know load brokers try and lowball you also.
Then the revenue cut I take off of every load. Yes I know they have fixed costs for running the office as well.
But sometimes I really wonder on the mark up they take
