That's pretty good. I'm hauling local reefer for Nestle private fleet right now and my gross for 2014 is going to be around 48.

Flatbed typically pays better than drybox and comparable to reefer, and BTC is paying better than most other flatbed outfits at this time. Plus, the hometime is better.

    Beene07 and Treefork Thank this.

I've got about 2.5 years of flatbed experience prior to the last 1.5 years of reefer hauling. I miss flatbed, reefer is making me feel slow and weak. ;)

Treefork I read most of your threads back 3 years ago when u worked at Roehl. I almost went flatbed but chose van for Roehl. Did that until I found a local gig. Now looking for better pay. BTC sounds like a decent company but I can't stomach the idea of having to go with a trainer for 2 weeks since I have no flatbed experience. But I'm leaning towards them.

    Treefork Thanks this.

Brother, the trainers here make it extremely painless...I know all of them personally and they are not the typical "get me a training gig to get some one else to do my job" kind of guys. They are all top notch drivers. I know, I was one of them myself. Any questions you have about the training process here I would be happy to answer. Send me a PM if you need to.

So...hypothetically. I have roughly 4 years of experience. About 3.5-3.75 of it in flatbed. I live in Minnesota in the twin cities. How does that look for hiring area? The hiring area wasn't on their site when I was looking. I am looking to make more but get more home time. Just kind of testing the waters, but these guys seem like a squared away company.

Hey Mark, been reading this thread and I am interested in BTC. I have 3 years driving in the oilfield of west Texas. With the slow down, I am moving back home to Clinton, MS, just west of Jackson. 1. Do you think my 3 years of driving would qualify me to start at BTC? 2. Is the Jackson area a good freight area? I know I used to see BTC all the time, even see em in Midland/Odessa quite a bit. Thanks for any info.
