You don't see many bank representatives or insurance underwriters representing their company logos either. Most professions in an office setting have no reason to do this, they spend all their time in the office with the same people everyday anyways.

Cubicle crawlers don't usually wear hats at all and the only logo on their shirts is an alligator or polo pony. They will not wear something with an iron on logo.

I'm going to add something to this conversation for everyone to think about.
How about the broker that has a name like,
    XYZ Transportation.
    ABC Logistics.
    123 Trucking
    Transport XYZ.

And NONE of them own one #### truck, but are using your truck and there name to help make there business work. And this goes for all the big companies that have the real owners of the trucks "lease on".

The brokers and the big companies are using you not ONLY to transport freight but to market their name.
I don't care what you have on the cab of the truck or the doors, they are also using you to sell a service as if they OWN YOUR truck.

What do you think the conversation sounds like when a sales pitch is given to a shipper?
Hi this is XYZ transport we don't have any trucks but we can get one that can transport freight for you.
Or maybe, Hi this is XYZ transport we have trucks that can move your freight.

Its like Valentines Day, and you have to send flowers. If you don't use a real florist then your just paying for someone else to find a florist for you and the florist takes a cut while the other guy used you.

Most shippers know the carriers that non-asset brokers use. If there is a different carrier everytime a load is picked up then they know you are scrounging around for the cheapest rate. They also realize that when you send the same company in time after time that the broker and carrier probably have a good relationship and are happy with the situation. All parties should know what the others' functions are, and if they don't then they should never have agreed to do business in the first place.

I don't wear my company's clothing because when I'm outside of work I want to wear clothes that I like. That I buy after working and getting a paycheck. I don't go to work all week so I can be a walking billboard for my company. It's great that you are proud of your profession and let people know it. Thats just not my style. I am not ashamed of being a broker nor would I hide it from anyone. We just have different ways of doing things and theres nothing wrong with that. To each their own.
