Swift - New Pay Scale complete details

    Company drivers get paid for all dispatched miles whether loaded or empty. You will keep the trailer only if your delivery is a live unload. Many of our customers are drops, if you are lucky they will have an empty trailer you can hook to for your next load. If you are not so lucky there, well, let the trailer hunt begin! Good luck!

    I also drive for Swift, in my fourth year OTR. My experiences with the Company have not been as yours. I feel my success or happiness with Swift hinges more on myself rather than what DM you have or what terminal you're out of. I don't think either of those play that big a part. Home terminal is mostly a paper game. My DM and I talk off and on but I pretty much take care of myself when I'm out.

    I consistently average 3000 a week, often more..and I don't do resets. I rarely sit and my truck runs mostly seven days a week. Developing good time management skills are essential plus reducing turnaround time to a minimum between loads. If you're not Platinum yet then work for it so you can access mac30 load selections. I also run hazmat and tanks to increase my opportunities. I also don't believe theres some conscious effort to run you good one week and poorly the next. That's not in Swifts best interests nor yours. I've not had that issue.

    As as far as payroll, mine are 99.8% correct each week.

    Maybe be you don't live in a good freight area to get home. I live in Houston and I always get here on time and most times a day earlier..but then again I do not accept loads going in the wrong direction 2-3 days out. Who cares what they offer..just mac9 the loads that don't get you home.

    Theres a a lot of stuff that irritates me about Swift and OTR..BUT.. Much of it is the nature of the beast and would be the same everywhere else. I've learned how to work the system, stay moving and take home pretty good checks every week. You get out of it what you put into it.

    Mac9 is the macro on the Qualcom you use to accept or decline a load. If you accept as offered then you simply enter the trip number and say yes. If you do not accept the load pick up or delivery times as offered you decline the load with adjusted times you can legally do the load...if the system finds your adjusted times acceptable it will re-offer the load with your times...and then you're expected to accept. You cannot, as a company driver, simply decline without sufficient reason. Not liking the customer, destination, Miles, weight etc are not reasons to decline. Hometime, truck maintenance, required training at a terminal could be considered acceptable reasons generally with your DMs knowledge. If your times are not acceptable for the customer the load will be removed and another will be offered.

    Mac30 is a load selection macro for diamond/platinum company drivers and O/O & L/Os. Generally within a 24 period prior to your final delivery of your current load you can request a load offer. Up to 3 loads may be presented for you to choose from..or there may be less to none. I get 2/3 of my loads through mac30 and that gives me some freedom to decide where I go.

    A live unload is when the customer unloads the trailer or loads the trailer as opposed to a drop and hook where you simply swap trailers and leave.

    Wondering if any of ya'll have heard any rumors about the pay increase mentioned in the email we just got. Sometime in the next 6 months?

    Sorry I know this a stupid question but how much do new drivers make at swift? I looked at the chart for the new pay scale but it is confusing lol. Any help would be appreciated. CPM between the day you start solo through the first year. Thanks.

    Is it .28 starting or .33.
