I just saw this. I know. I'm a little late in the game. But Big Billy Bigrigger with the Pete is wrong in every sense of the word. I hope the ###### is fired and loses his CDL. Piece of trash.

we see it every day
you are driving, doing a decent clip and mr slowpoke wants to let some four wheeler onto the exit ramp, he signals (two blinks) and now is right in front of you
he thinks he is Mr Smith with his expert driving technique, meanwhile you almost ran into his trailer
and then when you pass him, he smiles and waves (completely oblivious to what a danger he is on the road)
i personally no longer get upset with such things, but i can understand what happened in the videoDrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
I cannot. And I get pretty pissed off. It's one thing to get upset. It's an entirely other thing to cause an accident on purpose.
-
understanding why, and justifying it are two different things
i understand why hitler did what he did, but i could never justify it
i understand why drug dealers do what they do, but i could never justify it
we all react differently to different situations, some of us are tempered better than others. the driver lost his temper and it will cost him
but mr slowpoke was not innocentjonboy29 Thanks this. -
I know the difference. And I don't understand why. Once again. I've gotten pretty pissed off at people. Especially some of these ####### drivers. Never has it entered my mind to do anything like that.Marksteven Thanks this.

o,, it has entered my mind
at least ten times a day
but i would never do itDrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
Never. And not because I have a halo over my head. But because I know there's another human in that truck/car/bus/bike. Once you put the human inside of the vehicle, those thoughts cease to exist.Lepton1, Marksteven and FatDaddy Thank this.

I guess I'm late to the party, too.
One thing I didn't see discussed here was the *safe* thing to do. Not who's right. Not who's wrong. Not pedal mashers versus slowpokes. Safety, pure and simple.
Two trucks - roughly the same weight on the same road in the same driving conditions. One going, say 75 mph the other going, say 60 mph. Which driver has a higher chance of losing control of his vehicle if he brakes hard? It's common physics, the guy moving faster has a higher chance for an incident if he gets brake checked at a higher speed. He could rear end the other driver, his brakes could lock up... well, you professionals see where I'm going.
The slower truck should have backed out and remained in his lane. Without any additional complications from the disabled vehicle (like pedestrians or debris in the road), it is safest for the slower truck to back down, pass the disabled vehicle, then proceed back up to cruising speed.
Safe, guys. Not right, not wrong. Safe. Because I want all of us to get home in one piece.

I'm not saying I don't disagree with you...in some instances the absolutely correct thing to do is back off instead of changing lanes. I know of multiple times where I've gotten the finger from some 4 wheeler who doesn't understand I do not have to let him in as he's merging on the highway and I don't move over for him since it's not safe to do so.
However, in this instance, any blame on the slow driver is just speculation....you have no idea how much room he had when he came over...for all you know he changed lanes with plenty of space, and mr. speedy had plenty of time to slow down but didn't because he felt like he didn't have to.
So as far as I see in the video, everything was completely safe until Mr. supertrucker slammed the brakes...anything else is just speculationMarksteven, Lepton1 and daf105paccar Thank this.
