kenworth t2000 with ultrashift wont shif

    Hello, can I get some advice. I just bought a 2008 kenworth t2000 with a 10 speed ultrashift, last night I hooked the trailer and about 20.000 lbs when I tried to take off on drive mode it would not advance I switch it to manual and it still wouldn't work,. I turned the truck off let sit for a few min and it still didn't work finally I put it in reverse and it worked but about 1 hour later I came to a stop and the same happened all over... any advice out there ??? by the way there is no code engine on it.

    What does the display show??

    if "--", you have a power loss to the TCM, there are 2 power supplies, one constant, The second switched, you must have very clean power to the TCM.

    Start by checking the connections on the battery, then on the TCM (mounted on driver side of transmission). Make sure the negative side is complete as well...

    no, the n is only on when I turn it on after I shift it it goes into gear but it only flashes the gear im in

    I had a 2000 Eaton Ultrashift that would do the same things, sometimes it would give me codes, sometimes not, on mine I used to take out the two small fuses that was on top of my batteries, left them out for 15 minutes, sometimes that is all I needed.
    Most time I had to crawl under and on top of the transmission and double check all the electric connections, make sure they are pushed together properly.
    Now, while you are on top of the transmission the computer is on the top on the left side on an angle, directly next to that there is a small metal casing about the length of a cigarette pack, half the width, mine had 2 wires going in and 2 - 3 going out the other end, inside is a little computer card, make sure that this little module as it's called, is not split in half, they way that is split in half comes from the salt and chemicals that is being used on the roads, that need to be in one piece and held together properly, it has to be grounded to the transmission otherwise it will play with you.
    I'm not saying that is your problem, but it can easily be.
    Mine at the time cost me about $149.00 and it was like getting a new transmission after it got replaced.

    ALWAYS be sure the transmission is in N before you shut off the engine, also, if the batteries are new, check the connection to them, maybe a loose cable (Ultrashift is VERY sensitive to electrical needs!!!!)....if none of this works, maybe you need a new XY shifter ....I drove that tranny for a year and found out it is VERY sensitive to the battery state....
