Red, I appreciate your comments. For the record, it is my truck I keep it limited at 70 by my own choice. And I pull a flat so I cant really run at night most times nor do I want to.

Excellent, informative thread, DY. A thought as I read:

Being a gambler doesn't mean being stupid with ones decision making. It means applying good risk assessment skills and playing the hand you're dealt without really knowing what the other guy has until he shows his hand, as CARB did. You are doing the best you can with what you've been dealt...successfully, I think...and changing the plan as needed.

Unfortunately I'm well familiar with the detestables he mentioned. Most are in chromed out dump trucks that look like they're trying to compensate for something.

    Gee, I wonder what?

I learned a long time ago when you quit worrying and stressing about how other drivers around you are not driving the way you think they should - and just focused on driving my truck - that it was less work, more enjoyable, not as tired at day's end, etc. My grandfather always liked to go 5mph below the flow of traffic to let all the other fools get bent out of shape over nothing. Patience....

Rollin, I usually agree. I usually drive 65 which means most people pass me. I usually take your attitude. just let everybody pass me by. And it is true about being less stressful. Maybe I should stop complaining about the 10% of the traffic that I am talking about.

Whew! I will be blissfully content in the future knowing that so long as I am on cruise I am correct and proper and I don't have to turn off to let slow passers in front of me anymore.

Rank, I usually will slow down for slow passers. I dont like that situation anymore than you do. And when I am the slow passer, I will try to speed up a little so I don't take 5 minutes to pass. When I said I use the cruise all the time I did not mean 100% of the time.

As one used to driving a 60-mph truck in a state with a statewide truck limit of 60, I'm used to being the slow guy on the road. Heck, I've even been passed by Prime!

It's all good. I was responding to earlier posts that suggested not using cruise was annoying to other drivers by making the point that inconsiderate drivers are inconsiderate drivers.....cruise or no cruise.
