Exactly!!! And the random will take care of that. I dunno, I just don't see how hair makes the road safer. It punishes people for PAST decisions, but it doesn't make the road any safer TODAY.. If anything you could argue it's less safe because of the time the dirty hair takes to get past the scalp line

either way, I don't care. Lol. Hair, urine, none of it matters to me. I've taken, and passed, both and it's not a deal breaker for me. If they tell me I've gotta give a hair sample I'm sitting down in their chair and letting em cut these locks.

 

Seriously, how is this thread not locked yet??!? OP has just joined the forum, and 11 of her first 13 posts are asking how to beat a drug test??? Then in one of her 2 other posts,(http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr.../216423-e-w-wylie-has-all-20.html#post4390826) she states she just got her CDL a month ago. Man, this is the posterchild for what type of trucker this industry needs to get RID OF!

I see your point but remember, catching someone in a safety sensitive job in a DOT random drug test is not viewed as a success by the company or the DOT. It's a failure. The frequency that a company performs random testing and the size of the group sampled is predicated on past performance. The more people caught dirty the more testing that's done. I'd bet those doing non DOT hair tests have a less than stellar DOT record and are struggling to improve their record. I'm from a different DOT regulated industry but the same drug testing standards. I have personally terminated employees that worked with the company 15 years and got popped. You'd think after being subjected to 15 years of drug testing everyone would get it. Nope.

 

If you need to ask a question like this, PLEASE do us all a favor and look for another career.......Stay off the Road...for everyones sake!

 

That's the problem. 90 days...in the grand scheme of things...is present day, where measuring habits and behavior is concerned. If someone can't pass a 90 day drug test and they're choosing to go into trucking...there's a good chance that they'll be using again in short order.

 

Just something to think about, that single axle box or flatbed truck driver you see going down the road? If he's under 26,000, no drug test.
