Maybe you had it planned so you could get this trip instead of one of the other drivers. Hope you have a safe trip and Happy New Year. Nope everyone has a chance at doing this run (30 trips / 27 drivers ) , some want to run it others pass and I have to make up the loads that get passed on , my 1 daughters doing it next week to cover another driver who declined his turn. Been a great trip so far compared to previous trip weather / roads are great, safe trip and all the best in 2015 to you as well

Happy new year everyone, I really enjoy reading this thread and feel like I know all of you. ( sorry for stalking) I am soliciting opinions. My last driving job was with calark 7 months ago. ( great company by the way). I had to leave trucking to come deal with my moms health issues. She is now in assisted living. I have been in construction sales for the last 6 months and really don't enjoy it. Looking through truck driving jobs I found a chance to run out of kennesaw ga. Running team doubles with fed ex. Mostly I-10 and I-20 at .46 per mile 5 to 6 thousand per week. Out 5 days and home weekends. Have I lost my mind? All opinions welcome

Welcome to the board! Sounds like you found something good! Have you heard from any of their drivers? Sorry to hear about your mom. I know this job can make situations like that tough. I can say the stories I have heard here at Abilene, they bend over backwards for the drivers here when family issues like that come up. Feel free to ask any questions you have here.

Got to my drop last night at 9pm, was at the yard at 9:45, got dispatched at 10pm and in bed at 10:30. Woke up at 6am, showered then hooked my trailer going to Cheyenne Wy for Thursday. I had to stop by safety to pick up my new permits, then rolled out at 11am. Right now I called it quits here at the hook in Cannonsburg Ky. I'll leave out at 5am, good lord willing I'll be in Cheyenne Wednesday about 8pm.

I did have a very close call last night 100 yards from the entrance to our terminal. I was bobtailing back, noticed a car coming towards me on my right on one of the side streets at a very high rate of speed. Very quickly I saw the car was going way too fast approaching their stop sign, I had no choice but to lock them up to avoid t-boning the car, which never stopped at the stop sign. I swerved towards the back of the car as I stood on the brakes. Of course this set off the critical event deal on the qualcomm, at that point I pushed the save button on the dash cam. So this morning when I was in safety, I told them what happened, we looked at the recording from the dash and was given an attaboy for not killing the two dummies in the car.

Pulled into the Hook in Spiceland In tonight at precisely the moment my low fuel light came on! That worked perfectly! Couldn't fuel my reefer because I had put fuel in this morning at richmond before the pumps shut off on me as usual at 100 gallons. Will have to fill the reefer in the morning. Then I discovered after being "fixed" my truck will still not idle with temps in the low 20s. Oh well I guess. Good night all and be safe!

Got to Cheyenne a day early for one reason, to work a reset in. I got here to the Loves at exactly 11:30 yesterday morning. My reset is up at 9:30pm tonight. My delivery is 3 miles away at 10pm tonight. I then have to run down to Henderson Colorado to load at 3am in the morning going to Aberdeen Maryland for Monday at 6pm. I'll be in Richmond at noonish on Sunday dropping it to turn right around. Since I got here I've been holed up in bed trying to get rid if this cold I came down with....urghhh.
