I heard thru the grapevine we had a bunch of drivers leave over the last week. Tim lost 3 off his board, and from what he said it was for personal reasons, one because of an illness, one because he took a local job to be close to home and help out his wife with a newborn and one because he's needed home to care for a sick parent. The others I have no first hand knowledge as to why they left, just gossip and that's not my deal.
I can only worry about my job and my miles/earnings. I'm cool with what I make, I enjoy working here, my Fleet Manager is top shelf and I get home when I need too and enjoy quality time at home. OTR is inherently loaded with issues that are hard to deal with, add into that scenario low miles and different attitudes, that leads to a group of folks that are constantly on the move. It's the nature of the beast, some overcome and deal with it, others change jobs. It's something that I've witnessed the last 35 years. It's not fair to point the finger at any one side, I think the whole industry needs to be readjusted, but that's another story left for another day. Right now I'm gonna grab a couple of cold medicine tablets and go back to bed.
Happy New Year all!!!!!!

happy new year everybody, that's one thing about otr, any trucking company has an empty seat waiting for a driver......stay safe.
JohnBoy Thanks this. -
JB, I hope you get to feeling better. One thing Abilene really needs to consider is raising there pay, rates are rising, some OTR companies are paying .45 to .50 cpm now. Granted Abilene has great equipment, but there paying a mileage rate from 10 years ago. Just my opinion. Be safe!
JohnBoy and gntorres61 Thank this. -

Happy New Year to my AMX family! Spent the night in far western IL for a middle of the night load going back to Va, delivering sometime tomorrow. When I was loaded and pulled into their parking lot to finish my 10 it was 9 degrees. Truck dash readout showed 46 degrees a couple minutes later my truck shut off. No problem, bunk heater on and my CPAP on for a couple hours sleep. Woke up to a low voltage alarm. Truck barely cranked over. I've written this up before and it was "fixed". How would I describe this issue to the shop? Not sure what to call the outside temp sensor that seems to measure 37 degrees high lol. I would appreciate amt input guys! Stay safe!
Glad you're on the mend JB!JohnBoy Thanks this. -
