100lbs of Air Pressure in your tires at 32deg F?

    just wondering, when its cold, or very very cold, and you measure your tire pressure (whether you do 90 or 100 or 110) should you have full air pressure when its cold when you start your day?

    or should you expect 70-90 and anticipate it warming up to 100 or so after driving?

    Never under inflate your tires. My company has automatic inflation system by Hendrickson, so it is always at the proper level.

    i wasnt saying to purposely underinflate them

    but when you check the tire pressure at 5am and 10deg and the air is under 100, do you add air or let the road heat it up and bring the pressure up?

    I thought the pressure measurement was supposed to be when the tires are cold.

    It says "cold" right on the tire. By "cold" they mean the ambient temperature. Tire pressures should always be checked after the tires have had a chance to cool, ideally before you start your day.

    Air them to 110 when its neg 20 outside then watch them go boom when its 116 in phx :)

    I wouldn't worry about it too much. Tire pressure will read lower in the extreme cold but as you said as they heat up they'll come up to the proper pressure. I run 110 year round.

    It won't make that much of a difference but they are supposed to be inflated cold.

    110? I run 104.

    Set them up whenever Temps are over 50f and below 80f.
    then keep an eye on them "before and after" the end of each day
