I buy the laminated one every few years .
I use it as a desk and and a dinner table .
I use it to find the best looking back road to keep the job fresh after all these years .

I have never paid retail for one ever !!!
I get them at the truck stop for somewhere in the 30 dollar range .

Like so much else in trucking it is a personal preference thing.
I just prefer the laminated just because it is what I am used to .

If your company gives you a paper one, use it and save your points at fuel stops. That's what I did, I only ended up paying tax.

I'll have to double check but, I swore the ones at Pilot were cheaper than Amazon. It seems odd that anything would be cheaper at a truckstop so I may be wrong.
Get the laminated one. When that truckstop burrito isn't sittin' too good, you'll be glad you had the laminated one.:biggrin_2559:
If mine wasn't laminated, I'd have probably used it for that too. I still have my '07 and still use the '10 model, time to upgrade. Get yourself that blue, thick, truckstop directory too, and definitely get a beefspotter if you haul cattle. I have a GPS but it serves better use as a speedometer, and it helps to see the curves and tiny roads at night. Usually if I'm trying to find a feedlot out in the middle of BFE, I'll use google maps satellite view. It makes it easy to see where the driveway, scale, and chute are at, especially at night.

The bigger version is nice, it tells you what you can find at each TS. The little one only lists lot size and the basic stuff like scales and garages.

Maybe not, since I bet Pilot sells more than Amazon and they might be able to buy them a little cheaper from Rand.

I have an Amazon gift card to burn but I might just save it and get the atlas from ebay or Pilot.

How to dry erase markers do on those? Thing I like about the laminated stuff is that often times you can use a wipe-off marker on them and it comes off clean.

If you can... Well, to be frank, my in-cab sni-provided GPS is going to start collecting dust...
