This is a different guy, he did it in a White International with a load on.

I'd try to find the video on FB that he posted, but he blocked me after I called him out on showing the video and now not being able to get hired on anywhere. I said Karma's a mommy dog and I guess he didn't like it. :biggrin_25523:

Just a couple thoughts on this before the BIG game tonight.

If you drive the NJTP or 80 or 287 or 76/276 fairly often, you'll see this type of idiocy. Trucks and cars alike. It seems the further out into the country I go, people drive a little better IMHO.

I think the vast majority of posters here are professional drivers who practice what they preach. On the other hand, I've seen just as many dangerous truck drivers on the roads as safe ones.

The reason we as an industry get hammered by over regulations is because of these bad drivers.

Watching the video, it appears to me that the trailer (if there actually was one) was empty. The up and down vibration from the cam looks like it. I doubt one could survive at all going that fast with a decent load and crashing. Maybe he /she really had a death wish? I dunno, people do crazy stuff like that today.

I had a white knuckle grip on my chair when he almost sideswiped the mini van and I just can't figure why the big truck in the right lane, near the bottom of the hill, was stopping.

Was he afraid of getting hit? So you come to a stop in a travel lane of a busy highway? That driver is just as stupid as the reckless one!

Long story short, I was next to a car who hit a 1 ton van sitting in a travel lane. At full speed. I was blowing horn and waving. Driver didn't see it until the very end. After 35 years I can still see it. Don't ever stop like that.

Reminds me about 2 months ago I was heading to Chattanooga. I remember seeing a truck by-pass the pull off before you go down the east side of Monteagle Mtn. But he had a trailer. He didn't even attempt to pull in to the pull off.

The speed limit is 45 he wasn't stopping he was just going slow. Probably a new driver and his first time down. Its hard to tell when you are near the bottom. It may have been why middle lane was break checking, because the truck that was behind him jumped in the middle lane. Then to imagine the driver looking in his mirror to see that clown barreling down on him and taking the shoulder. In sure he may have had to change his britches after that.

I saw a truck do that also, it might of been the guy I talked about, some drivers think if they are empty they don't have to stop. THP sometimes sits just past it and waits for trucks that don't stop, I wouldn't want to pay that fine.

guess that would depend on whether he could have slowed down in time. mite have been the smartest thing he did the whole video.

had just the oppsite happen to me on donner. seen a truck coming up behind me fast with brakes smoking and a 4 wheeler next to him, i jumped on the shoulder and told him to keep going.
he bought me dinner at the truck stop, told me he would have been screwed had i not moved over.

People keep talking about the shoulder. The whole cotton pickin, steering wheel holding, take my cdl officer, let me show people I'll never meet how stupid, and careless not only with my life, but the lives of others. By going down monteagle at 80 darn tootin mph.Was a stunt. Get down or die trying.

Near my house is a pull off at the top of the hill on 309 near Hazleton when you get off I-81 and head south toward Tamaqua/Allentown. Saw a guy blow off the stop, and gave him a heads-up on the CB that he was supposed to stop there and that the bears sometimes hide in the bushes to catch trucks not stopping. I was promptly told to ####...
