The only GPS 'APP' is use is Google Maps but not for directions...
Just for quick mileage stuff. -
My favorite.....EXPERIENCE, with some good map reading skills!

Rand McNally map and Rand McNally 5" gps as a reminder. It can be a pain at times to force it to go the proper route that you see on the map, but it works.
I used garman and Tom tom car ones in the past, did the same thing with them. Just had to force them to do the route I wanted then they were just a reminder on distance. The tom tom was easy to change, worked like google maps where you could drag the line to get it where you wanted it.
In town I do not trust a GPS at all, even though most trucking ones do not seem to bad, but I don't trust them. I get very good directions and always keep my gps on 2D, so I can see the area map. That way I see the roads from my directions and be ready. -
Rand McNally and the Nav-Go on the Qualcom and sometimes one of the apps on my phone.....I never use the phone app without using 1 or both of the others....... always look at RM motor carries atlas before heading out
sometimes gets a little crazy with 3 voices yelling directions at meStuka Thanks this. -
tucker Thanks this.

I'd like to be using a RM 720, currently using NaviGo from Qualcomm, which has a proclivity to route me through small towns to save half a mile instead of the easier route on the interstate. Using your noggin' is the best GPS of all. It's amazing how many trainee's have absolutely no clue about basic geography, directions, or how to trip plan.
chopper103in Thanks this.
