What would you do in my situation?

What company are you with ? The people on here who work there can probably help you out.

Don't do a lease purchase. The solution to your question is getting on a dedicated account at your company. My wife and I are on one that has us out 4-5 days and home 2-3. The dedicated account may not be a Monday-Friday gig but it'll be good money and weekly hometime.

Nah don't do a lease purchase. You think you're married to your job now and don't have enough of a home life just wait, it would get worse doing that. Try to find a dedicated regional gig where you take your resets at home on the weekends. That would be an improvement. Or try to find a P&D job with one of the freight companies. (Bad time of year for that though.)

 

That's good you now changed your mind.I would suggest later on down the road if you decide you may want to l/p not doing a l/p,talk to other drivers at a company first..The success rate of completeing a lease purchase contract is very slim.

 

Do not do a L/P.

I'm going to second BTC. They pay a decent percentage, and their drivers are generally happy with their hometime.

If you still have that itch to own a truck in 2 or 3 years, consider F2F. I couldn't imagine having the hometime flexibility I have with them anywhere else, and since I do my own load planning, I know when I'm getting home, and just how much fatter my wallet will be when I get there.

Until then, there is plenty of research you can do on becoming an O/O the right way.

 

Sometimes, but generally not. Usually, you'll have a Monday morning delivery somewhere away from the home area which, if you want to have maximum mile potential, will require you to leave sometime on Sunday so that you are set up close to the consignee. This way you have near maximum drive time to go chase a reload. Sure you could leave out late and drive directly to the customer, but you will then have used up a good chunk of your available on duty time just delivering the load.

Every company (and every individual has different scenarios), but for me, I would usually get home Friday night, under a Monday morning load, AFTER 6:00pm, and have to leave out by noon on Sunday.

There are plenty of options for you right now....just dig. Stay a company driver, and keep your mind open for tankers, flatbed, end dump, trash, or whatever. I spent 3 months digging for a monday thru friday gig, and i run regional....taking home plenty of cash. Dont let anyone discourage you.

 

Call MFX in Hildebran, NC. They have a terminal in Cleveland, Tn. If you don't mind a fast paste job hauling nothing but furniture 20 to 30 drops a week. You will be home every weekend and in the middle of the week sometimes.
