As with another thread that I have been reading, and with the mention of Star Citizen in that thread, it got me thinking. How do some of you guys game (Online) while you are on the road?
I am quite big on gaming online with games such as Garry's Mod, Team Fortress 2, and I download a ton of games. I have over 65 games in my steam library, and that is excluding my EA library which I think have 10 games and I plan of adding games to the steam library.
I know that truck stops have Wi-Fi and I have VPN's set up at home and around the world. (Have to get around those proxy's somehow)
I am curious about the times you are not in a truck stop and parked out in the middle of nowhere.
Online gaming on the road.

T-Mobile unlimited data (when available). I have a Steam addiction too. Borderlands with the wife online, but I have lots of single player stuff for other times.
scatruck Thanks this. -
Not a trucker yet but studying to be one I imagion T mobile unlimited data would be the best choice excpet when in the mountains as that can be a hastle to get signal anywhere, gaming wise I am big on eve online.

Back when I had my alienware laptop when I was otr I tried playing black ops 2 online streaming through my phone as a hotspot. Had great ping but the lag made it unplayable. My upload speed was what killed it. That was with Verizon 4G before they had LTE though.

I can't remember that online game from a long time ago. You played on teams and many were members only. It was a shoot-em-up-game. My kids use to play non stop. I was into computers so everyone had a kick-### system setup for gaming and we had an awesome internet connection. I use to go on and play once in a while. I use to always see this team playing and one day I clicked and asked to come in and they let me join.
I played regularly for months around the same time like 2:30 when I got home from work. I was DoctorDeath. The game would start and I would last like 5 seconds before I was shot in the head.
I finally got a headset so I could talk and realized everyone was like 12 years old. I heard one kid say, Hey Dad, DoctorDeath is on. I could hear him laughing his ### off when I got killed in 2.5 seconds. By then everyone knew I was an older guy and not a kid.
Sometimes there was a wall you had to jump over. I could never get the hang of it and just kept jumping up and down while this kids father is laughing at me and I'm trying not to swear. Then I got shot in the head.tucker Thanks this. -
I don't know about you but after my shift the last thing I want to do is play a game. I am usually tired from the day and am asleep about 30 minutes later. If you are going to get the proper amount of rest then you need to think about that. Good way to cut your addiction because of crappy service speeds.

Pulling flats I didn't work but maybe 10 hours a day -
I was at a regular desk job and not driving a truck
-
LOL you did some short days then... In the summer I run a minimum of 12 hour days 6 days a week. Reset on Sunday. Sat is spent working on our trucks and trailers for Monday morning or piloting an oversized load. Yes you can go over your 60 as long as you do not drive. We run 60 in 7 instead of 70 in 8 since we are home almost every night.
