Talk to an accountant and a lawyer. If you have any other assets(house, bank and retirement accounts, gold, silver, etc), and you get sued as a trucker and you don't have the trucking company in a corporation of some kind, expect to lose it all. Make sure the truck financing does not use those other assets as collateral, as that breaks down the liability wall of the corporation. I suggest you talk to a professional if you value what you have. I worked in a accounting office for 16 years and have an accounting degree, but I am well out of date, so talk to those that are up to date on where things stand today.

    Use this website: http://efsrc.promilesonline.com/EFSTruckStops/Default.aspx

It is the EFS site where you can find fuel that across the EFS card. Try to stay away from the major chains for now. You can fuel for up to $1 below the national average.

Difference between 55 m.p.h. and 65 m.p.h.? BIG, HUGE DIFFERENCE. This also depends on the truck you get. I drive 55 m.p.h. and average 8.5 MPG. If I drove at 65 m.p.h. I would get less than 7.5 MPG (I'm guessing there). Regardless of the truck, you want to keep your RPMs around 1250 at all times. Again, may vary depending on the truck. (Freightliner, KW, automatic, standard). Once your get a truck, let me know I'll give you a SOLID recommendation.

Nothing to do with taxes. It was merely a reference for the quarterly miles bonus we get. Just wanted to remind him that those miles would be on the 4th quarter and not the 1st quarter.

Gotta love the smaller WalMart DC's. Here at the Riverside DC and they have signs all over saying a minimum of 4hrs for unload.

Got me a load going up north. To Plainview, TX. :biggrin_255:

Go pickup at Wal-Mart in Mira Loma, CA to the Wal-Mart in Plainview, TX. Drop and hook on both ends and a dry load.
