any one out there drive an ultrashift? I need some help I bought a 2008 kw t2000 with ultrashift runs really well, except when I change loads the truck wont advance I saw the eaton ultrashift video and they say that sometimes when you change loads you have to put it on manual mode and shift couple gears manually, i've tried it and it does not let me change them. I then turn off the truck for a couple of minutes and the tranny reprograms and works well does any one know if there's a trick to shifting it or am I doing something wrong.
Thanks in advance...

I had a similar problem on an 06' Century with the 10 Speed 16910 Tranny. Ended up being a bad XY shifter and harness. 56,000+ miles with no problems so far. Are you getting any codes?
-
No codes i took it to a shop and they told me everything was fine.
And of course when they drove it it didn't act up.did you get a code when you replaced the xy shifter? -
That's exactly what happen to me at the ###### so called Freightliner dealership in Houston. My truck had 3 stored codes-Failed to Select Rail, Fail to Engage Gear, Fail to Disengage Gear. I retrieved this myself and gave it to them. Their mechanics were still not competent enough to find out what was wrong and they sent my truck out of with a $1300 bill for "batteries and a fuse". That was more than enough to be pissed about, even worse when I was stuck in the hills of central texas. I had to do the same thing you described, power the transmission down, restart again and drive to the my next destination. I took my truck to west Texas to get fixed properly.
On my truck, to retrieve the codes, you turn the key on and off 3 times within 5 seconds and the codes numbers are displayed on the dash. If you get a Code 25, that means there are no fault codes. Any other number means you have a problem. I cross referenced my codes with what I found in an online Eaton manual. You can get the service manuals for your transmission at www.eaton.comLast edited: Jan 9, 2015
The Admiral Thanks this. -
I spoke to eaton they told me how to check any faulty codes on my transmission i checked for codes and none came out. At the end it had code 88 witch they told me it was fine. That meant there was no codes and everything was fine. Maybe i should take it to the dealer so they can hooked it up to the scanner just to be on the safe side.

This is the only thing I could find with any type of relevance to the code 88.
SPID/PID 109 FMI 1 Fault Code 88 - Coolant Pressure Low
Google Search Eaton md200codes.pdf and download this manual. There is a lot of info in this. The one I have is a 2004 publication so there is a high possibility this may have been updated. -
Do you get a flashing F on the dash when it doesn't shift?
-
Thanks, no flashing f or service only flashes the gear im in that's why im a bit surprise cuz everything seems to be ok, eaton told me that there was no updates to my program so that's why I thought that it might be me that is doing something wrong.
