So just so I understand correctly, submitting a DVIR and reporting a defect DOES create a work order so maintenance knows there is an issue now?

A lot of times when they do a pm and inspection, the trailer is loaded so they can't check the insides. So they put pending defects. I've picked up mty's that had that and if passing by an OC, i would stop and let them peek inside to clear the pending defects. A lot of times the defects have been fixed but not cleared out of computer. If past inspection date it will show OOS.dtcscout Thanks this.

there is a particular IC that belongs on this list. The Arsehole , is on TAH. he parked his truck at the resort in the row behind the shop along the fence line. No Trailer. Taking up a spot. Since Tuesday? still there when I went home friday.
-
Maybe he needs blocked in
-
This is where u barrow a key from the shop and then hide the truck.
-
I would have everyday but he only parked half way into the spot. Like those TS d bags that give the impression theres an open spot.

I'm not sure what is going on with Schneider these days, but I pulled for them for 2 years and never had a issue. If I picked up a pre-loaded trailer at a terminal that had a issue, they would put me head of the line. If I picked up a trailer at some drop yard that was safe enough to get repaired along the way, ........no problem. If it wasn't safe to pull, they would pay me to get another one. The biggest problem with trailers at Schneider is the lazy drivers that cannot spend 3 minutes sending a canned message over the QC to report defects.
I used to walk into the trailer shop at the Charlotte OC once in a while and ask for some old spare lights that I could use out on the road. They were always more than happy to let me grab some of the used running/marker lights.
I had a run in with another Schneider "IC" at White's truck stop off of I-81 one day. We were on the same driver board and our dispatcher called me asking me if I wanted to do the guy a favor by running out the load so he could get some home time. I agreed, and the driver was to bring the trailer to me. He pulls in about 2 hours later with a 3' x 3" gash in the right front of the trailer, and it was also missing a mud flap, and a side marker light. I told him not to bother uncoupling until he fixed his mess. The guy ended up going ballistic on me for 2-3 minutes because I refused to accept the trailer the way it was. He was on the phone to our dispatcher for about 10 minutes before driving off to find a parking spot. He had picked the trailer up at a drop yard we had in Mehoopany PA (P&G?) the day before, and it was emptying out in Memphis TN. He was too lazy to duct tape the gash, or fix the mud flap on the way. He also never reported the trailer condition via QC. After talking with our dispatcher on the phone ( we were both laughing)..... I agreed that I would take the load after Mr. Lazy went inside and bought a 12 dollar mudflap. It must have taken me a whole 15 minutes to get the trailer ready for the road..............geeeeeees.91B20H8 Thanks this. -
Yup... just lazy. Honestly it's really not too bad all things considered. As you pointed out, the majority of the issues arise from drivers being too lazy/too dumb/just don't care when it comes to fixing a problem before passing it on to the next guy.91B20H8 Thanks this.
