An unfortunate truth : We get dinged for stupid stuff like this for a simple reason...... in this case his dock bump triggered an event well that event has to be documented and addressed in the bigger picture.......
Goes like this: One truck in the fleet has a horrific accident...people die and of course here comes the litigation, the carriers history will be put on display through discovery from the plaintiff including this bump event. If the plaintiff can show a pattern of ignoring little things then he can say the inattention led up to bigger things like the wreck.
Same applies to maintenance, logs, training and so on. It's all about the size of the check.

I would probably just sit nude in the drivers seat for a few days ... bet they won't be watching that camera again. ;P
WisconsinF150 and Tall Mike Thank this. -
It was 21 years ago this week I started my steering wheel holder career with Millis.....if I only knew then what I know now.
I look back at all the crap Jay pulled on me because I was new and didn't know any better...
Only good part was my trainer was an old school guy who taught me how to run and what it takes to make money..Lonesome and WisconsinF150 Thank this. -
I agree, its amazing how much money they will spend to find reasons to keep from paying a driver what he or she is worth.
WisconsinF150 Thanks this. -
Ayyy-Null.

Millis keeps claiming I'm running stop signs everytime I see one.
Problem is, for the puter to realize you stopped, you have to sit at the stop sign for 5 seconds for the system to realize you stopped.

Just wondering, How long have you had your CDL and is Millis your first driving job? Who is sending you those messages, Safety or your dispatcher?
-
I worked for Norfolk Southern Railroad as a conductor. All freight trains have cameras in them two facing out and three facing in. They have voice recorders in both sides. The Engineer has a a spring handle on his control pod that he has to hit every 34 seconds to keep an alarm from going off that tells the dispatcher he is still awake. Imagine sitting in a seat going down a piece of track and having to hit a spring with your hand every 34 seconds to let somone in an office somewhere know you are still awake, and doing it for 12 hours straight on a run. The conductor has to call out crossings, mile markers, and signals (which appear every two miles) over the radio so the dispatcher knows he is awake. So a camera in a truck for me would not be so bad.

20 years. Not my first driving job.
Most messages at Millis are anonymous. Some are from dispatcher, some are from safety.antonio Thanks this. -
That was just west of Pembroke.
Sad thing is, the woman didn't have enough sense to either move her damaged car out of the left lane, or to abandon the car and stand off the highway.
