Weight limits and short bridges

I would but I've been in places hauling grain that you had to or you couldn't haul it

 

It's fine, the key is to just drive a across it really fast...

 

I've seen signs that say "weight limit 10 tons unless local delivery". I'm like, "okay so if local delivery somehow the bridge will know and not fall" hmm?

 

If there's a by pass around town & you happen to go thru the business route you can get a ticket if there is signs showing, "No Trucks," that is unless your unloading & or picking up a load or part of a load at a business that's located on the business route.

 

I have crossed bridges out in rural areas while logging and the logging company always gets clearance to exceed the bridges weight restrictions. But they say to creep across very very slow so that you don't increase the impact on the bridge by the truck bouncing at a higher speed. Very slow is the key to not over stressing the bridge. We have one particular bridge crossing the Middle Fork of the Feather River nicknamed "Squeaky Bridge", it scare the beegezers out of me every time I cross it. I have hauled delimmers, mechanical loggers across it and heavy excavators....each time I hold my breath and cross it in lowest gear. Seems like an eternity crossing it.

 

Absolutely true, yet some do not understand and cannot understand that, and there the ones who are very unsafe. I would hate for them to drive a truck that I owned.

 

I have been across that a few times going to Miller, No warning at all!

It sucks they go by the trucks gross weight rating and many states will burn you even if you are empty...
