Where I went to grade school was along the road that the gravel trucks from the Thornton quarry used to get to 394. We wore our arms out at recess every day getting those drivers to give us a blast. Never in a million years did I imagine that someday I would be the one making a kid's day.
My company truck does not have a real air horn

I drove a '07 387 that had a single horn under the bunk pointing out the drivers side. It sounded much like a sick goose. When a kid gave me the airhorn sign, I pretended not to see him

Flybynight041 and Hammer166 Thank this. -
I used to do that too, until I did it for 3 kids in the back of a stationwagon and they gave me the thumbs down sign. Now I act like I'm pulling the cord and say beep beep.

I never turn off my engine break, as long as you leave a little pressure on the throttle it won't engage when shifty, maybe this could help, when wanting to use engine break
-
I leave the engine brake on most of the time and on the prostar I drive it will not come on when you shift, throttle pressure or not. It's one one the few things I like about this p.o.s. truck.

WE have KWs in the fleet that will turn on the Jake BRAKE when I upshift. The two newer trucks won't, but you have to tap the service brake for the Jake to come on. I don't like either system.

My employer replaced the air horns on its Mack's with train horns. Dang things are loud. Every Sunday during a Colts game, I always get people that want me to blast the horn.... Cops included.... I happily oblige.
-
I'll make sure I install one on my own rig if I ever get one...

Hey man, atleast you have that. This 04 International Transtar I was driving for a while back didn't even have a loud city horn. Only the little girly steering wheel horn. No air horn, no loud city horn. It doesn't seem safe. Never heard of a truck without an airhorn before driving that wonderful unit.

The ProStar does have an air horn....It is about 7 inches long and plastic.
It is behind the bumper near the cross member.
I bought a Grover horn on Ebay....the fitting was the same and it worked.
It could use a larger air line to feed it being International used a line the size of the air seat line.
