    Hello all...
I'm a sleep tech, and I can tell you that each manufacturer of CPAP machines also makes a D/C converter. You simply plug it into a cigarette lighter. Here is a link to a favorite CPAP shopping website I use all of the time:
    http://www.cpapxchange.com/cpap-bipap-batteries-and-power-cords.html
I'm going to be starting CDL school in March, and already have my CPAP goodies lined up.

    Fire-Man Thanks this.

True enough...but going that route draws from trucks battery. If not idling or using an APU then you are going to find yourself unable to start your truck come morning, I would think.

We already have that for our s9 machines. But the way Schneider specs there trucks it cuts out before we are awake. So we are resorted to carrying a car battery to use so we can get a full night. If Schneider would use the Z1 machine we wouldn't have this issue.

After agreeing on an orientation date today, I was switched over to their medical department and discovered that my CPAP machine is not on their approved list. So they will loan me one until my insurance kicks in. Then I had to send in my sleep study. Since it's old, I'm waiting to hear if they will accept that or if I have to have another one done. If I have to buy a new machine and pay for a new sleep study, I just may have to pass on Schneider. I'm not sure I like them enough to put out that kind of money to work for them.

you wont pay for the machine, as you stated you get a loaner that complies with policy until ins kicks in. Then as long as yu stay a year I think , you own it. As for the study, I would think since you already are diagnosed , you shouldn't have to pay. Not sure any driver coming aboard does. Its an at home study i believe.

I came in newly diagnosed so my experience was cake. fresh study and with the machine the prefer.
