Just about any truck will do, the only two things that come to mind are 5th wheel height and overall height. If you know what outfit you are going to be pulling for, they can tell you what their min 5th wheel height requirement will be. I would stay with a midroof truck for pulling tanks, as some terminals and loading racks are around 12' or 12'6 that I have seen.

I thought some trucks are better suited for different types of trailers

Well as far as height, suspension, frame length they are. Tankers is a really vague area.

They all make great trucks. I drove a few Pete's, KW's, FLD's and Internationals before getting behind the wheel of a Freightliner Century condo. I was instantly in love with the Century. I am 6'3" and can stand straight up coming out of the drivers seat. Overall moving around room is superior. The Pete I drove sporadically for a couple months was a very nice ride, but I had to sit in the sleeper to get dressed. Not a deal breaker by any means. The Century spoiled me as far as the room it had. On the downside.......I don't think quality was in mind with the Century interiors. Cheap plastic gauges and switches caused me quite a few problems along the way. I had a light switch melt on me while sitting in D.C. traffic one day. The heater switch melted about a year later sitting at White's truck stop in Raphine Va. A few months after that, I had another light switch heat up. All stock wiring with no add on lights either. The plastic dash also likes to creak out the happy song on rough roads:biggrin_25510:
