Recruiter for a Michigan truck driving school told me this week that 75 percent of trucking companies permit drivers to refuse to drive in New Yawk City.
No clue how accurate that % guesstimate is. We have trucks in NYC weekly, but the loads pay $$$ and guys actually want to go there every week.
NYC aint that hard to drive in.
75% seem rather high, but I honestly don't know what the real figgure is. Personall, I would guess at under 50%. The recruiter is telling ya what you wanna hear.
Don't believe anything a recruiter tells you.. They are paid for you comming to school so they will bend the truth much as possible to get you into school..
75% is a very high number. So, don't believe that at all..
NY is not hard to drive in as mentioned.. What sucks about it is
what time you may be going threw there/traffic.
Tolls/bridges
Many low bridges and no truck routes
As a new driver who may be scared a little to drive in such a place, you should look into Copilot truck... I used it and it makes a world of difference in cites like NY..
