basically,an 18 speed or a 13 speed for that matter,is nothing but a 10 speed with more gears.start in the low range,then at what,6th gear,start splitting. no need to get discombobulated over nothing. no need to trip as an 18 speed is just another transmission.

look on the bright side.your company would not put you in it if they think you could not handle it plus it is not an automatic. just drive it and acclimate yoursel to it.no big deal.you are acting like a true newb. do not do that in front of your new employer.

Actually it the same as a 9 speed, on the 13, you can split the high side, on the 18 you can split the low and high side

Some 10 speeds can be up rated to, but they become 15 speeds

I too haven't seen the video where Eaton recommends that. The website told me to split then immediately single clutch IIRC.

Ya, I see in the video how they are doing it, using the clutch to release the torque instead of just using the accelerator like you do when you float. He even said in the video how you have to pre-select gear changes hehe.
