I was hoping to go to Swift's driver training program... Before when I talked to a recruiter I was told that I would need to obtain my CDL permit and would be sent to Millington, which is what I would prefer.

However I contacted my same recruiter recently and was told that I would be going to Decatur, GA for a week, and would then be bussed to Utah for the remaining weeks. I know Swift recently acquired Central... Can anybody offer any assistance??

Seems dumb to send you to Utah

But why does it actually matter?
Other than the long Bus Ride?
Or is that enough of a reason not to want to go? :biggrin_25525:

I flew from burbank to phoenix for the school. Southwest ticket was $135 swift reimbursed $80. But if you're broke and have no choice, gotta do what you gotta do.

I'm at millington now. They told us yesterday that they won't be taking Georgia students here any more. Didn't say why. So 6 or so Georgia people who got here today are getting sent home so they can be sent to salt lake city.

There is absolutley no way I'd ride a bus from GA to SLC. Many years ago I did Charlotte-Denver. 48 hours non-stop on a roundabout route going through Dallas. I did take a bus from Charlotte to Richmond terminal to pick up a truck which turned out to be a crappy Volvo. It actually wasn't that bad but no long trips ever again.
