Have to give a shout out to whatever driver called my safety department to report something GOOD about me...I don't know who you are but on the one in a million shot you read this, I appreciate it and now you've given me the idea to call in when I see something good out here.

Long story short...today at the Pilot in Orange, TX I had parked and was getting ready to run inside to grab my scale ticket and a couple other items when a flatbed was setting up for a straight back in the nearly empty lot...A pickup truck pulling a trailer behind him decided he didn't want to wait the 30 seconds it was going to take and decided to play "beat the train", he wasn't going to make it and I immediatley got on the air horn and mr. flatbed stopped in the nick of time....I really don't think I did anything none of you guys reading this would, but an hour later I got a call from my FM saying safety just noted a positive report on my record due to somebody calling in and reporting it. Its the little things that make you happy out here.

Caught it all on my dash cam...if I can figure out how to post it here, I may...however I used a couple 4 letter words caught on tape so maybe it will get flagged :biggrin_25523:

Anyway...parked at the J in Gulfport, MS

Funny how those things happen. I had one of those once up in jersey heading towards the GWB. Safety sent a message a 4 wheeler called in praising my 'professionalism and patience behind the wheel'. I remember that week and that day in particular vividly. Can't recall anything I did that day that would warrant a call like that.

The thing about that day that did stand out was that I'd been up there 2 weeks and getting really annoyed and tired of the morons in their 4 wheelers cutting me off and closing up my following distance. Patient is not one of the words I'd have used to describe me that day lol but maybe knowing I was already on the short fuse just maybe I was in fact showing more restraint than usual lol

something like that out of the blue and unexpected does raise your spirits a little and validate that you are the driver you think you are.

    Good job fatdaddy

Shoot I'm almost always above 12k on my Volvo whenever I'm full of fuel. I've loaded near 13k at times when I've had a FUBAR load that was all in the nose and had to move the 5th wheel Tires are rated for a 13200 load.

    What a weenie.

Had several customers write letters to my former employer raving about the quality service I provided.

Was thinking about parking at a Shell right next to a Walmart on I-70 KS and would still have about 5 mins left from my 11... But after considering how close those trucks' "noses" are from someone going to the fuel bays, and how one can have difficulty leaving early if other trucks parallel park near the wall in front of them, I decided to park 15 mins earlier... at a small rest area instead... I am the first truck in line... easy out... :yes2557: Will leave at 3:30 am central... Gotta have my meal now and rush to bed...
