I live in central pa and most local companies like milk haulers and dump ends buy gliders. Most have 6nz cat.

 

I can deal with that also. Along with CA, I don't do the NE. Actually made that clear 7 years ago when I got with my present carrier. There is no Northeast, there is no Florida, and there is nothing west of I-25. Never been a problem and I do just fine. I keep virtually all my runs in and area from NE to OH and I-70 north. Lots of stuff moves around that area, and it is perfect that I live almost in the dead middle of that area. By the house a couple of times a week and off on the weekends. What's that old line... oh yeah... "work smarter not harder".

 

What ever happens in CA stays in CA.

 

I'm in NY and run a 389 glider with a pre emissions Cummins. Every morning from April to August I run through Westchester into Ct. If its gonna be an issue, it would be here. I even go to the big city (more than I care to) and no issues. Got 5 trucks in the fleet that have had their DPF's "enhanced' to flow a lot more air and never has been an issue. The only people that have a problem that I've heard of are the ones smokin a lot. No worries here.

 

Ah yes, the "dreaded" Northeast, lol. The best part about driving up here is poking fun at all the other drivers refusing to come here.

Ah, but if there is a lot of decent paying freight running around those corn fields, it really makes no sense to do the NE. I let the folks who live there take care of it. After all, they need loads in and out of there, right? Far be it for me to steal their freight when I have more than I can do just running back and forth in the Midwest.

 

Can't lie, anything around the city generally sucks. I'm just outside Albany. Not bad at all. Everybody thinks that New York is all like the city, not even close. Actually a lot of nice running around me

 

NYC is like a prison in my opinion.

 

N E is not scary at all if not in down town

 

Well, I never thought it was "scary" or whatever. I just don't see a good enough reason to take my truck there. It does have it's own particular hassles. Nothing that can't be dealt with, just I don't see any reason to deal with them. It sure isn't like running the NE that I am going to be richer than I am now. The additional hassles of parking, congestion, and a dozen other little issues just doesn't make it worth it to me, when I can avoid most of those hassles and enjoy driving a little more by running the area I do. just getting old, I guess. Just don't see the justification to make things any harder on myself than necessary.
