Ok, still not sure what that means? DOT is the name of your bus company and you live there?
-
I will explain how it works. I own the company so I'm pretty familiar with the procedure.
DOT is not involved with drug testing at all. The DOT does require you to belong to a drug testing consortium. That can be done by your own company or you can hire an outside company like OOIDA or others.
Names are drawn on a random basis and you may be called for a drug test. That can be done in tons of places across the USA. The results of your drug test come back to the owner of the company and only them! They are not given out to anyone else. If you fail the drug test it's up to the owner of the company how he/she wants to handle it. They can do nothing at all if they want to.
The problem shows up when there is an accident. At that point the drug testing records of the driver can be looked at and if the company took no steps at all to take care of the problem they can be held at fault also. -
Some companies can go back years with a HAIR SAMPLE,alot of MEGAS are startimg to use URINE & HAIR samples,BE CAREFUL, DONT THINK U CAN USE SOMEBODY ELSES PEE,BECAUSE IF THEY DO A DRUG TEST N U PASS,BUT FAIL THE HAIR TEST,YOU WILL BE FIRED,DISQualified, and they WILL RELORT THIS ON YOUR DAC and DRIVING RECORD,sO be SMART and not SLICK!! I seen alot of guys get FIRED BY RANDOM!ITS not worth it but MCDONALDS STAY HIRING nad they dont DRug TesT at AlL,*hint hint*

Only if you were diagnosed with Type I diabetes and required insulin. Type II diabetes that is controlled via medication and/or diet and exercise would not disqualify you. You would likely only get a medical card valid for up to 12 months if you have Type II diabetes. I recommend you bring any recent blood test results, such as recent A1c test, and any information discussed with you by your primary care physician to better show what extent you have diabetes should you ever be diagnosed. The same applies to many other health related concerns you may have now or in the future.

As long as you have good control over it , (an A1C of under 7 ) you'll be fine I would think..anything over that and your control isn't too good. You will only get a 1YEAR CARD THOUGH. You'll be asked to pee in a cup for a urine sample anyway , this is how they will check it. They'll do this as a part of the regular DOT exam too , so be prepared.
