Whatever the reason for the outrageous gas prices (and there are many) we all must stand united and let our voices be heard. The general public will stand with the truckers. In the 70's, with the help of the Teamsters, the truckers shut down the country for 10 days when gas prices were approaching $2 a gallon. Things remained relatively stable for 30 years.

There is plenty of oil - the Saudi's just want to keep the prices high by not pumping more! We have oil in Alaska that we apparently send to China. What do and would these countries do to help us? Not a darn thing!

It's time that we say, by our actions, that we have had enough! It's wrecking the entire economy.

Also, haven't heard much from the Presidential candidates in this regard - I say whoever has the best idea related to getting gas prices back down to what they should be; is the one to be voted for!

Louie, you are so right! Truckers need to stand strong and united against the rising prices! "Shutting down the country" sounds like THAT could send a mighty powerful signal to the powers that be? The longer they're allowed to get away with jackin' the price..the longer they WILL continue to get away with it. They're like the school yard bullies I'm sure we're all familiar with...until someone stands up to Mr. Bully" and says NO MORE he will continue to take avantage. Whatever happened to safety in numbers? I think about how many rigs are on our highways everyday...man if THAT large of a number of rigs shutting down wouldn't get someone's attention and FAST I have no idea what could.
