I wasnt going to "quote" the whole post...
But IP, you should seriously consider writing a sort of "text book" on professional truck driving. You have great trucking and business knowledge and an excellent way with words.

jbrodgers Thanks this. -
I checked out his site... looks like a good app... do you use it? I will worry about that more after my training though....

Its a primer for folks wanting to move up to being an owner operator. No, I've never used it.

This may attract negative attention, but I'll vouch. I make ###### good money as an L/O at Prime on flatbed. Love my job. I don't really ever go home, but I can easily do an average of $1,250 after I pull taxes a week.
Now granted I've had weeks where my settlement was $50, and I've had weeks where my settlement was $3,500. It all averages easily to $1,250-1,500/week after taxes. I bust my ### for that money but who doesn't?Boy Howdey Thanks this. -
ip you are a guru with information in regards to prime as a company. I was wondering if you know what the differential is for training? I am looking at joining prime in the near future and wanted to make a gradual transititon into a lease with them. Also anyone could answer it is there any home time during training???

I have no intention of leasing a truck for the next year and possibly beyond. That said this was fascinating to read through. Quality, little story telling and more. Thank you for all your contributions, time, and knowledge.

I recommend running on the company side for a couple of years to learn your trade and find out whether trucking is your bag. -
What does he mean by differential? If he's talking about contrasting take home pay, when training as a L/O, I make about $1500 a week or so more than going solo.
-
I believe that's what he was looking for. Thanks for the information!
