Because we get absolutely no respect from the general public and are viewed as less than dirt? Then again i view many truckers as less than dirt myself. The biggest reason not to is youre basically a homeless person who divorces himself from his hometown and never sees his friends and family.Like right now im at a pilot near indianapolis for the night. There is not a single person or reason for me to be at a ####### random truck stop in IN. But alas, here i am. Tomorrow i will be in a different place i equally couldnt care less about.

I will drink to not giving a hoot of what the brain dead mindless masses think of me. When brains are outlawed, only outlaws will have brains. To those of you that have not fallen to the zombie epidemic, I salute you.Dinomite Thanks this.

Good Luck Scott. And to the one poster, who gives a crap about smoking a joint with your buddies? I wouldn't associate with druggies. Plenty of other job fields have these things called random drug tests.

Almost all new driver severely underestimate the importance of home time. You may be single and it not be very important that you get back to city A, but time off will help you stay sane, if only to get caught up on your sleep. Not enough hometime is usually one of the top reasons new driver quit.

I got my permit for class A today and threw on a tanker endorsement for kicks. Called the Roehl recruiter I've been talking to to tell her and got a job offer from them! It's been a good day!

You got a prehire and invite to orientation.... Not a job offer.
Correction.
::wets finger and tallies 1 for himself::
Get as many of those as you can find guy!
Good luck to you. Enjoy the process. Looking back it was a fun experience getting wined and dined like some NBA superstar or some junk.
...just know those days are about to be over as soon as you sign the bottom line.

Thank ya! However the process goes, I got a pre hire almost a month ago and today she sent me a conditional job offer and all the info I need to go for orientation as soon as I graduate school. I've got a few different companies in mind but Roehl seems best to start out with. Flatbed regional. Im feeling pretty good about it.[emoji4]Snowshoes Thanks this.
