With your hand on the steering wheel at the 6 o'clock position and wheels straight, you rotate the steering wheel so your hand is now at the 9 o'clock position...
Your hand is now on the left side of the steering wheel, the wheels are pointed to the right because you rotated the wheel clockwise, and if you back up the trailer will go to the left.
Limit your steering wheel movements to no more than 90° when doing this exercise, and it will start to cure the habit of oversteering.

Besides, I'm betting ol' J got this down within 24 hours of that particular post. Right, J? Betcha, betcha! -

Both techniques do the same thing; the only difference is hand placement and remembering whether the trailer will move in the same direction or opposite direction of your hand movement. Some people have an easier time with one than the other.Jrdude5 Thanks this. -
Seriously, anyone out there put off or confused by my snobbery...i apologize. These guys know what they're saying, even if they are a little odd. *wink* -
If your way works for you, good. My technique is just another way to make the trailer do what you want it to do. -

I am A-D-D and this is how my granddad thought me to turn the wheel it makes more sense for me to put my hand at the bottom of the wheel and which ever way you want the trailer to go that is the way you turn the wheel. It might not work for some but I fully understand this way instead of at the top and which ever way you turn the trailer will go the opposite.

I apologize for any misunderstandings. I will now go back to silent reading.
