Yup i have days where i make that. But i also dont pay rent or mortgage. Average cost of housing where i live is 1000 a month so if i make 460 for 4 consecutive weeks (i never do) and add 1000 even at 460 a week my standard of living would be like if i was making 2840 a month which isnt great but not bad either. Realistically i will make 1100, then 500, then 800 then 900. Anything under 700 is because i am taking time off for part of the week.
Never drive for a company that starts you out below .40 cents a mile!

Well my boss has 6 trucks and i have a pretty good relationship with him. So i will answer the phone but only to frustrate him because i will do what i want regardless. lol

That will get you fired at the company I work for..because the voicemail they leave will include load info..
if load isn't p/u?..your done when boss arrives next day.
seen it here many times. -
I plan on signing with a company that starts out at .32 then goes up per performance. I'd be able to ask for more if I was able to pay the cost of the school (and in my area it is between $4,800 and $5,200).
But sadly at .32 cpm and an offered 2300 - 2500 miles at a run (7 days or so) I still look at bringing home more than I am right now working with a degree in my field!
Ohio is ##### for jobs that pay a livable wage! -
Getting advice from experienced drivers makes sense, in theory. But how many times have we seen "experienced" drivers give 10 different answers to the same question? 10 different interpretations to one regulation?
How can anyone without personal experience in this industry be expected to know who is right or not? -
there is no such thing as the right lease. you have all your eggs in one basket if your dispatcher decides he or she doesn't like you they will make sure you will lose that truck, your entire investment, and if that isn't enough they could ruin your whole career by ruining your dac. they have too much authority over the drivers. they have the ability to starve you out. sure some people do ok in a lease but most people cant finish the lease. you really want to let someone else control your destinytahokid Thanks this.

also another problem is dot doesn't always know the regulations either some of them even make it up as they go. regulation is so complex one simple law 100 pages long they make it over complicated and it doesn't have to be.tahokid Thanks this.
